County Road 33 closure announced

Word has come down that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is closing County Road 33. This road sits over the emergency spillway at the Lac qui Parle Dam. I suppose we all know that when the engineers start poking around the dam, they must have their reasons, but it certainly makes getting around town a bit more complicated for the rest of us. It is never fun when a familiar road gets blocked off, so you might want to adjust your travel plans before you find yourself staring at a detour sign.
