Milroy's Revived Funfest Looks Ahead to City's 125th Anniversary
Volunteer support keeps a returning small-town festival growing

Milroy brought back Funfest for another year in September 2026, following its revival in 2025 after a lengthy absence.
The Tracy Area Headlight Herald reported a day filled with a 5K color run, a climbing wall, petting zoo, volleyball, car show and other family activities, followed by live music. Local volunteers provided much of the effort needed to organize the festivities.
Bev Welu, one of the organizers featured in the regional report, described strong support from neighbors and visitors. Fundraising and community assistance are also helping prepare for Milroy's 125th anniversary celebration in 2027.
The returning festival gives residents a reason to gather in their hometown beyond the regular calendar of daily life. Information about next year's festivities will need confirmation as organizers announce their schedule.
Minnesota Riverlands follows regional reporting on Milroy to share small-town traditions and the people working to keep them strong.
