Redwood County EDA Prioritizes Housing to Boost Local Economy

Strategic plan identifies workforce housing as a key factor for business growth.

The Redwood County Economic Development Authority (EDA) recently adopted a two-year strategic plan aimed at strengthening the local economy. According to the EDA, workforce scarcity remains a primary obstacle to business growth in the region. The authority has identified housing as an instrumental component of community development, noting that local businesses may struggle to retain and recruit staff without an adequate supply of housing. To address these needs, the county is currently offering forgivable loans through its Local Housing Trust Fund to support new housing development, redevelopment, and the rehabilitation of owner-occupied and rental units. Residents and business owners can learn more about these initiatives by visiting the Redwood County EDA website.
