Redwood County Plans 45 Miles of Road Resurfacing in 2027
The county also outlines bridge replacements, Belview reconstruction and work at the Goldmine Bridge.

Redwood County plans to resurface 45 miles of roads in 2027, along with replacing bridges and culverts across the county, according to the Highway Department’s report in the fall 2026 Redwood County Connection newsletter.
The planned resurfacing follows a year with no county pavement resurfacing projects. County Road 10 between U.S. Highway 14 and Minnesota Highway 68 is scheduled for milling and an asphalt overlay. The project also calls for about 3,000 feet of shoulder widening north of the Cottonwood River bridge. The county says funding tied to the Plum Creek Wind Farm will cover the shoulder work, where a transmission line runs alongside the road.
County Road 4, from the Lyon County line to County Road 2 south of Morgan, is also scheduled for resurfacing. The county expects federal safety grant funding to help replace road signs along that project.
Other planned work includes replacement of timber bridges on County Roads 4 and 5, installation of concrete box culverts at several locations, and countywide culvert repairs using liners that can be installed without digging up the roadway.
Two larger projects span more than one construction season. The city-led reconstruction of County State-Aid Highway 7 through Belview is expected to include new pavement, utilities, storm sewer, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, with completion projected in 2028. Replacement of the Goldmine Bridge on County Road 17 over the Minnesota River was scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
The county identifies the projects as planned or underway; construction timing may change. Residents can consult the Highway Department’s online construction information and five-year road and bridge plan for updates.
