Students at Lac qui Parle Valley ISD 2853 gathered for their first day of school meetings on August 31, 2026, between 8:15 AM and 9:00 AM CT. It is always a bittersweet moment when the quiet of summer gives way to the bustle of the hallways, and I’m sure there were plenty of nervous smiles and heavy backpacks as everyone got settled in for the new year. Whether it was finding the right locker or catching up with friends after a long break, the first day is always full of that particular brand of school-day energy.
