Walnut Grove Firehouse Festival Builds a Family Tradition
Volunteer firefighters lead games and fundraiser for their community

Walnut Grove's second Firehouse Festival brought community members together in September with activities organized around the volunteer fire department.
The Tracy Area Headlight Herald reported that the celebration served as a free-will fundraiser for the Walnut Grove Relief Association. Families enjoyed children's games and firefighter-themed activities, including an obstacle course and chances to use a fire hose, followed by entertainment.
Fire Chief Andy Foster described the desire to create another town tradition alongside Walnut Grove's better-known summer pageant. The local volunteer fire department provides the organizing energy behind the festival.
Events like this help support volunteer emergency services while giving families an opportunity to gather and build relationships.
